Timber decking has no limitations in shape, size or style, so as long as we can ensure that the deck will be structurally sound, anything goes.
Design features to take into account are such as whether you want an area for sunbathing, a shady spot for the children to play or a built in table or seating for entertaining. The biggest choice is whether to go for an elevated deck, which inevitably provides adequate space for all uses. Other possibilities are steps, trellis work and balustrades. Decking is available in a range of timber species and can be stained to just about any colour, the deck can also be made of grooved, ribbed or flat timber.
